Special Diwali Wishes to Everyone!!!

Happy to share a simple, yet very popular and yummy dish to sweeten your Festival of Lights!!

Sweet peda is a Milk based sweet, often called Milk Peda. Its a simple, less time consuming recipe and can enlighten any occasion due to its flavors and its everyones favorite. I made this using Milkmaid which makes it even more easy and quick to prepare.

Milk (Maid) Peda


  • Milkmaid Tin - 395g
  • Milk Powder - 4 TBS plus 1/4 cup
  • Full cream Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Corn Flour - 1 1/2 TSP
  • Ghee - 1 1/2 TBS
  • Lime Juice - 2 TSP


  • Mix the milk maid and milk together.
  • Add 4 TBS of milk powder, Corn flour, Ghee and lime juice.
  • Pour the mixture into heavy bottomed pan and cook the mixture in a medium heat.
  • Keep stirring until the mixture gets thick and leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Let it cool for 10 minutes.
  • Now add the rest of the milk powder slowly at a time and mix well.
  • Don't mix all at once, it will make the mixture to get dry. The mixture should be little soft and pliable to knead to make pedas.
  • Use the round cutter to cut the pedas or use your hand to shape into round balls.
  • You can decorate the peda with chopped pistachios.
